Tile Crate Shipping Policy

Freight & LTL Delivery All tile orders ship via freight (LTL/pallet) due to the weight and fragility of ceramic and stone products. Standard parcel carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS) are not used for full tile orders. Delivery is curbside only — the carrier will bring your pallet to the curb or end of your driveway. Inside delivery, liftgate service, or job-site delivery may be available for an additional fee; please request this when obtaining your freight quote.

Who Should Receive the Delivery An adult must be present to receive and inspect the shipment. Do not sign for delivery until you have inspected all cartons for visible damage (see Damage Claims below).

Lead Times

  • In-stock items: typically ship within 3–5 business days of order confirmation.
  • Special or custom orders: lead times vary; you will be notified at time of order.
  • Transit time after pickup: typically 3–7 business days depending on destination.

Areas Served We ship to the contiguous 48 U.S. states. Alaska, Hawaii, and international destinations are available by quote only — contact us before ordering.

How Freight Cost Is Quoted Freight costs depend on order weight, dimensions, and delivery zip code. Because rates vary significantly, freight is not calculated at checkout. Instead:

  1. Add items to your cart and submit an inquiry, or contact us directly.
  2. We will prepare a draft order with the freight quote included.
  3. You review and approve the total before payment is processed.

Inspection on Delivery — CRITICAL Before signing the delivery receipt:

  • Count all cartons and verify against the packing slip.
  • Inspect all cartons for visible crushing, punctures, or moisture damage.
  • If damage is found, note it clearly on the delivery receipt ("cartons damaged") before signing.
  • Refuse delivery of severely damaged pallets and contact us immediately.
  • Signing without noting damage may limit your ability to file a freight claim.

Damage Claims

  • Report concealed damage (discovered after unpacking) within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Email photos of damaged cartons, tiles, and the delivery receipt to info@tilecrate.com.
  • We will work with the carrier to file a freight claim on your behalf.
  • Replacement tile is subject to availability; credit may be issued if the item is out of stock.
